Beyond the curtain, through the ancient gate
We brought our offerings to bridge the great divide
A sea of shadows, we would watch and wait
With every sacrifice, a longing deep inside
But earthly temples are but fading ghosts
A sketch of glory that the heavens truly hold
On the sky able, undeniable
The Great High Priest has passed beyond the veil!
His throne is established, unshakeable
A New and Living Way that cannot fail
From the dust of the altar to the height of the stars
Our hope is anchored in the King with scars!
No blood of bulls could ever clear the stain
Or quiet the conscience from the weight of every fall
But One has entered through the fire and pain
To offer up Himself, once and for all!
The scroll is opened and the debt is cleared
The perfect Love has cast away what we have feared
The heavy velvet was torn from the top
The separation has been broken by His hand
The flow of mercy will never, ever stop
It saturates the dry and thirsty land
We enter boldly to the throne of Grace
To look upon the beauty of the Father’s face
The Altar is empty, the King is on high!
His Name is the anthem that fills up the sky!
He is the First and He is the Last
The Future is certain, the Shadow has passed!
