Track 3: The Garden and the Grave (The Second Adam)
In the dawn of the world, in the breath of the dust
A father was formed in a moment of trust
But the fruit was a weight that he couldn’t sustain
And the garden was lost to the briar and the rain
Through the heart of one man, the shadows broke in
And we all wore the shroud of his original sin
But look to the hill! Look to the tree!
Where the Second Adam is bleeding for me!
The first man fell, and we followed his ghost
But the Last Man won what we needed the most
From the dust of the first to the life of the Son
The curse is undone! The curse is undone!
He didn’t reach up for a crown not His own
He laid down His life to rebuild us a throne
Where Adam had hidden in shame and in fear
Jesus stood naked as the nails drew near
One man brought death, and we tasted the sting
But one Man brought life, and he made our hearts sing!
Look to the hill! Look to the tree!
Where the Second Adam is bleeding for me!
The first man fell, and we followed his ghost
But the Last Man won what we needed the most
From the dust of the first to the life of the Son
The curse is undone! The curse is undone!
We were born in the fall, but we’re raised in the Light!
The First Adam failed, but the Second has Might!
His blood is the river that washes the clay!
His Breath is the life that is leading the way!
The sky is His temple and our heart is His home
No longer a desert where we wander alone
The image of Adam is fading away
As the image of Christ is rising today
Forgiven
Redeemed
The Second Adam
Redeemed
